![]() And because this situation just would not have happened if any one of us normal non-famous folk had done the same thing, they probably didn't think about it at all. None of them expected for random followers to take the VO's grief and make it about themselves.Īt the end of the day, they're human, just like the rest of us. ![]() None of them were thinking about how hundreds of people on Twitter would take their grieving-kept vague out of respect for the bereaved-and turn it into a massive ARG. That sort of socially lateral thinking often takes a backseat in the face of grief, and it's super easy to overlook things like "how will this come across in public" when you're crippled with overwhelming sadness and need to get your feelings out. But in the moment, they're not thinking of the fact that they have a large audience, all they're thinking is "what's the fastest way to cling to my friends in the middle of a pandemic because I really need someone to hold me right now".īecause of that, the thought that this could all turn into a public guessing game probably never even occurred to them, and to be honest, I don't blame them at all. I think the only reason why it's different this time is because most of these people happen to be public figures. Ordinary Twitter users like you and me grieve on Twitter all the time, because for many Twitter users, that's where all their friends are, and that's the fastest way to reach them in bulk. They just really needed to get their grief out and reach out to others who could grieve with them, and so they took the path of least resistance to do so, which just so happened to be Twitter. That's where they "hang out", and that's often the first place they go when they seek out each others' company en masse. Pretty much all of the VO community is on Twitter. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
